Preview Content is a necessary tools as nowadays everything is about form and not that much about the actual content. It allows people to see what they just publish this way they can decide if they are ok with the design, with how the paragraph are align, center etc.

In one way the name preview content is therefore falsely used. We don't care that much about what it is said or rather what is going to caught our eyes are all the visual elements: image, color, banner, presentation. Is the page fluid or not? Is it modern or a bit old-fashioned?
We all have experience being attracted to a page because of all the visual elements but we realize after seconds or minutes that the actual subject of the page wasn't interesting to us.

But behind a preview content we find the notion of control and perfection. With the numerous platform and website available it is tough to stand out. This is why once we choose the browser that fit the best to what we're looking to do with it, we have to be able to know each of it's aspect and to get some kind of self reflexion in the page.
In my latest post on Customization I brought up the fact that even though we feel like the page we recreate belongs to us, it is still a platform used by millions of user and therefore not completely modifiable by us.

I took a picture of the preview of my wordpress: the preview is great cause it gives you a picture of the exact page that is going to appear on your post. Here I decided the color, the frame, and wrote the text content.. though if you go over the editing part of the page (screenshot above) you would notice how unpersonalized the page is actually made.
I can't pick the actual size of font I want to use. I have to used their predefine: title, caption etc as for the size and the form.
The way my post are post on the page are always the same way, and if I do want to change it, it will automatically change the appearance of all my different pages of my blog.

The illusion of control is here as we still have to deal with the rules of the platform we use. No matter how creative we are it will still be printed out as belonging to this platform.
